Hotel(Short Story)
The hotel I booked for my stay in France was more luxurious than I expected.
It seems like the type of the place where billionaires and millionaires would spend their time.
I walk towards the check in receptionist avoiding room service carrying luggages, trays of food and bed sheets.
“Hi.” I say. “I booked a room here for a week-long stay.”
“Okay.” Says the receptionist. Her voice sounded very high pitched. “Name?”
“Adam Saville.”
The receptionist types away on her computer. “Ah yes, here is your name. You are in room 21. It’s on the second floor.”
The receptionist turns around. She picked up a key from 100 different keys on a wall. She hands me the key. “If you need anything or have any problems please call room service.” I nod.
I throw myself onto the bed as soon as I enter the room. I was about to pick up my bag to look for my phone when I noticed my name in big capital red letters on the wall. “ADAM.” I ignore it. Thinking that my mind is playing tricks on me. I begin looking for my phone in my bag.
That night, I lay awake staring at the wall. I couldn’t sleep.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see something moving in the shadows. I immediately sat up. I grabbed my phone and turned the flashlight on, pointing towards where I saw the object moving.
There was movement again but this time it was on my right side. When I turned towards my right there right in front of me was a person. “Adam.” The person points towards where my name was written on the wall. “That was a sign.”
“Of what?”
“Who knows.” They start to cackle but then stop after a few seconds.
“Are you ready to no longer be here anymore?”
“Do you mean dying?”
“No.”
