The Colour Black(Short Story)

I grab my black hairbrush with white bristles and brush my dark brown hair.

When I was done I placed the hairbrush down and walked towards the desk opposite my bed to take my phone out of the charger but before I even placed a finger on my phone, I noticed a black stain on the wall that wasn’t there before.

It looked like paint but it could be anything. In the middle it said in white letters “hello max.”

I picked up my phone and took it out of the charger and decided to ignore the stain since it’s probably one of my siblings trying to scare me.

“I’ll clean it later.” I thought. “I might be late to school if I try to clean it now.”

When I arrived at school, I went to my locker to get my history textbook out of it when I noticed a black stain that was identical to the one I saw in my room earlier except this time it said “Don’t ignore me.”

I don’t know how three letters like that managed to fit into a black stain like that but I’m not sure I want to find out.

I was about to take a picture of it so I could show someone this but the words in the stain suddenly changed and I didn’t even see it change. How?

“Don’t take a picture. You will regret it.” It said this time. The black stain itself seemed to have grown bigger too.

Something jumped onto me from behind. I actually jumped even though I knew who it would be. Alice. My friend.

“That’s weird for you to get scared. You never get scared.” Alice says.

“Can you see this stain?” I say pointing to the direction of where it is.

Alice takes one look at the direction of where my finger is pointing and shakes her head.

“Are you sure?”

She nods. “Oh you have got a bug on your locker. Here let me….” Alice flicked off the bug. She looked down at her finger and there was a small black stain there. “What is…? Is this what you were seeing?”

“So now you can see it?”

Blood starts to leak from the black stain and it starts to drip rapidly from Alice’s finger. Alice drops to the floor.

When I turned around every pair of eyes in the school were looking at me and every phone camera was pointed at me.
